Managed Server
Your server is being monitored. Is anyone acting on what it finds?
Guardian monitors, maintains, secures, and supports your servers so developing issues get addressed before they interrupt the people and systems that depend on them.
Whether the server runs in the cloud or in your building, the job is the same.
Managed Server is part of Guardian's Managed Services. See also Managed Workstation.
What Guardian Manages
Reliable and available
We monitor server health, performance, capacity, and availability so problems get addressed before they turn into disruptions — including when the resources no longer fit the workload.
Current and maintained
Patching and security updates run on a schedule, and when one fails we find out and go back. A patch that didn't install isn't protection.
Protected and recoverable
Security is actively managed, and server backup is included — with someone responsible for whether the backup actually worked, not just whether the software is running.
Access under control
Server access, roles, and permissions are managed as people join, leave, or change responsibilities.
Documented, not remembered
The configuration and information needed to support your servers is written down, so support doesn't depend on one technician or one employee knowing how everything works.
Supported when something goes wrong
We troubleshoot the server, operating system, connectivity, and access. If the problem belongs to an application vendor or another provider, we help isolate it and work with them rather than leaving you to sort out who owns it.
What That Means for Your Business
Fewer surprises
We watch for developing issues and act on them before they become tomorrow's outage.
You don't have to chase us
When something needs attention, we follow through. You shouldn't have to notice it first, reopen the ticket, or ask again.
Someone owns the problem
You don't have to work out whether the issue belongs to Microsoft, your software vendor, your internet provider, or somebody else before calling us. We help work that out.
You know when something needs to change
When capacity, performance, security, or an aging system starts becoming a business concern, we tell you — before it turns into an emergency purchase.
Cloud or On-Premises?
A server is still a server whether it runs in your office or in the cloud. Managed Server is our ongoing management and support of that server either way.
For most new workloads, cloud infrastructure is our starting point, because it can be adjusted as requirements change rather than bought once and lived with. When an on-premises server better fits the business or the application, we support that too.
If your servers run on Guardian's cloud hosting, the infrastructure underneath them — sizing, Azure configuration, and backup of the host — is covered there. What we see on the server is what tells us when that sizing needs to change.
A note on scope
Managed Server covers the ongoing management, security, maintenance, monitoring, support, and backup of the server. Cloud server hosting, major upgrades or replacements, architecture changes, disaster recovery, and specialized project work are separate services where needed.
